We provide this website so that we don't clutter the District website with all sorts of things related to managing our online presence. This website provides:

1. A web services announcements page so we can keep District members informed on changes with web services.
2. A catalogue of all active web services so members can understand what we host and how it can help them.
3. Our mission and goals (and history). 
4. Access to the District Getting Support site.

 

2013-14 Web Services Team

Role

As District Web Services Chair, Gord is responsible for:

• Management of current web services.
• Reporting on web services at District meetings.
• Posting new articles on the District Blog
• Chairs the Web Services Team.
• Manages the Vertical Response mass email service.
• Prepares education material for Club bulletin editors.

Role

As Web Services Special Projects, Jeremy is responsible for:

• Maintains the web services team website.
• Prepares documentation on all District web services.
• Designs and deploys new web services for the District.
• Prepares education material for Zone and Club webmasters.
• Hosts the "Put Your Club Online" website and the "Sample Optimist Club Website".

Role

As Bulletin Editor and Public Relations:

• Prepares and distributes the electronic version of a District Bulletin.
• Acts as Managing Editor for the "OptiNews" District Blog.
• Composes entries for Facebook and Twitter.
  
• Prepares press releases as required.
• Provides training on preparing club bulletins and email newsletters.
